AGM 2026 CHECKLIST: 10 THINGS COMPANIES SHOULD COMPLETE BEFORE 30 SEPTEMBER

With 30 September 2026 approaching, companies should review their AGM requirements, documents, notices, and other compliances well in advance. A little early preparation can help avoid last-minute stress and compliance delays. Here’s a simple AGM checklist to help your company stay ready and on track.
AGM Compliance Checklist for 2026
- Check Your AGM Due Date- For the financial year ending 31 March 2026, the AGM is generally due by 30 September 2026. Check if any special circumstances apply to your company.
- Finalise Financial Statements- Prepare the company’s financial statements for FY 2025–26. Make sure they are properly reviewed and approved.
- Prepare the Board’s Report- Prepare the required Board’s Report along with the necessary supporting documents.
- Fix the AGM Date & Venue- Decide the date, time and place/mode of the AGM as per the applicable rules.
- Send the AGM Notice- Prepare the AGM notice with all required details. Send it to the members within the prescribed notice period.
- Set the AGM Agenda- Clearly list all the matters that need to be discussed and approved by the members.
- Conduct the AGM- Hold the meeting on the scheduled date. Discuss and take up the matters mentioned in the notice.
- Record the Minutes- Properly record the discussions, decisions and resolutions passed during the AGM.
- Complete ROC Filings- After the AGM, check and complete the applicable ROC filings. Common filings include AOC-4 and MGT-7/MGT-7A, depending on the company.
- Follow Up on Deadlines- AGM compliance does not end when the meeting is over. Complete all applicable post-AGM filings and compliances within their respective deadlines.
